Former St. Louis police officer pleads guilty to stealing government property

ST. LOUIS—A former St. Louis police officer pleaded guilty to stealing government property in federal court in East St. Louis Tuesday.

Larry D. Greenlee, 40, pled guilty to one count of theft or conversion of government property.

According to police, Greenlee in September, 2010, responded to a call of a suspicious vehicle.

Police said Greenlee took inventory of the contents of the car and stole a Rolex watch encircled with diamonds that was sitting in the car before being towed. Audio and video surveillance was set around the vehicle as well.

Greenlee was indicted back in February when he was charged with failing an integrity test while serving as an officer.

Sentencing is set for September.
