More people, and money, leaving St. Louis County

 CLAYTON, Missouri -- More people are moving out of St. Louis County than moving in, and they're taking money with them.
  
The St. Louis Post-Dispatch cites Internal Revenue Service figures showing that those who left the county from 2001 through 2010 earned an average of $8,000 annually more than those who moved in.
  
The result: St. Louis County lost $3.41 billion in resident income through migration.

IRS figures show that 440,000 people earning more than $10.6 billion in income moved into St. Louis County during the decade. But 492,000 people earning $14.05 billion left.
