(KMOV.com) -- On Tuesday evening, MoDOT will begin a big road project on Interstate 44 that is expected to last until September.
MoDOT says it is the beginning of a pavement repair and resurfacing project. The first part of the project starts Tuesday night with one eastbound lane being closed at all times until September. The closure will start at Antire Road.
In addition to the lane closure, other closures are expected to impact drivers. On Saturday, one lane of westbound I-44 at Antire Road will be shut down. The lane will be open weekdays between 3 and 7 p.m. for the evening rush. Also, the entrance and exit ramps from Antire Road on westbound I-44 will be closed throughout June.
Detours signs will be in place to help commuters navigate around the ramp closures.
