Trayvon Martin's family to speak about gun violence in East St. Louis

(KMOV.com) -- On Friday, the family of Trayvon Martin will be calling for an end to violence at a rally in East St. Louis.
Trayvon is the 17-year-old who was shot and killed back in February during a confrontation with neighborhood watch captain George Zimmerman in Sanford, Florida.
Tracy Martin, Trayvon's father, grew up in East St. Louis and he says he wants young people who are picking up guns and killing each other to know that death is permanent. He is expected to speak at a "Stop the Violence" rally at North End Missionary Baptist Church at noon. Trayvon's mother and older brother are also expected to speak.
The family says their overall message will be about gun violence in the metro-east and across the country and that it needs to stop. They say it is claiming too many young lives and leaving behind grieving loved ones.
