Would you donate $10 to lift the spirits of area veterans?

(KMOV.com) -- On Memorial Day, people throughout the St. Louis area will gather to honor the men and women who gave their lives for our freedom, but what about the men and women who are still alive?  A St. Louis area resident is hoping to lift their spirits with laughter.

An effort has begun to provide something to brighten the lives of veterans in hospitals or veterans homes in the St. Louis area and throughout Missouri.  Walter Wright and some friends are trying to get funding to publish books.  The book, "Laughter is the Best Medicine" has been given to some veterans at Jefferson Barracks Hospital and Wright reports the results have been heartwarming, but funding is low.

Each book costs $10 and comes in three volumes.  For those wishing to help fund the project, you can make a $10 to help the effort.  Each donation allows one book to be printed.
