ST. CHARLES, Missouri (KMOV) – A memorial fund has been set up for a mother who was found dead in St. Charles after her 3-year-old child had been left alone in an apartment for at least two days.
Deputies said the body of the 34-year-old woman was found by a worried relative late Sunday night in the Park Ashwood Apartments off of Highway 94.
Authorities said officers found the woman’s daughter inside when they searched the apartment. A source told News 4 she told police she thought her mother was asleep.
Investigators said she may have been dead from between two and four days.
Police said the girl is doing well and is staying with the victim’s sister.
Deputies said they believe the victim possibly died because of complications from a recent surgery. An autopsy will be performed to determine the exact cause.
For anyone who wants to donate money to the family, a memorial fund has been set up in the mother's name at all US Bank locations. Checks should be made payable to the "Adrienne A Embry Memorial Fund."
