(KMOV)—East St. Louis Police captured a prisoner after he escaped, in handcuffs, from officers Sunday morning.
An unnamed prisoner was being transported to a local hospital after faking a sinus illness at 11 a.m., when he was able to break free, fleeing on foot from the scene.
This prisoner was captured a short time later near the Casino Queen. He was taken into custody again without incident.
Police say the prisoner was caught by the Metro-East Auto Theft Task Force driving a stolen car on Saturday. He could now face additional charges.
