COLUMBIA, Il. (KMOV) – Two suspects are in custody after leading police on a pursuit that began in south St. Louis County and ended in Columbia, Illinois Monday evening.

The chase began when St. Louis County police located a stolen white Dodge Ram pickup truck near the Wal-Mart on Telegraph.  The suspects then crossed the Jefferson Barracks Bridge into Illinois where the vehicle was slowed down by a set of spike strips.  The suspects were eventually apprehended after driving into a cul-de-sac and through the backyard of a house in the Brellinger neighborhood around 6:15 p.m.

The driver of the vehicle got into a “violent attack” on police who fired shots but missed, according to police.  Two officers were treated for minor injuries.

No additional information is available at this time.
