South St. Louis bank robbed for 2nd time in less than a month

ST. LOUIS, Mo. (KMOV.com) – Police said a man robbed a US Bank in south St. Louis on Tuesday, the second such incident at the bank in less than a month.

According to authorities, the robbery happened just after 9 a.m. Tuesday in the 5300 block of Southwest Avenue.  Police said the suspect walked into the bank and demanded money.  He indicated he had a weapon, but did not show one.  Witnesses told police the suspect fled in a red SUV.

The suspect was described to police as a black male in his mid 20’s, around 5’10” with a thin build.  During the robbery, he was wearing a green t-shirt, green hat and a scarf over his face.

Police did not say if the suspect got away with any money.

On June 11, the same bank was robbed in a similar fashion.  The suspect has not yet been captured.
