ST. LOUIS (BaseballStL) – If there is one person enjoying the recent heat wave it would be Cardinals outfielder Matt Holliday.

Holliday has a hit in 13 of his last 15 games including nine multi-hit games which have raised his batting average from .278 to .311 -- all since June 16.  In those games, he is batting .500 (28-for-56) with three home runs and 16 RBIs.

To keep the hot streak alive, Holliday smacked a solo home run in the third inning of Monday’s series-opener against the Colorado Rockies.

Unfortunately, this streak will have to be halted after Sunday due to the All-Star break.
