ST. LOUIS (KMOV.com) -- Washington University is working to change its image after being named the 16th most crime-prone campus in the country.
The university will spend $200,000 on patrol services in and around the campus. The services will provide an additional 4,000 hours of police patrols.
“it’s a part of our longstanding partnership with the neighborhood to increase public safety in the forest park southeast area,” said Brian Phillips, Executive Director of Washington University Medical Center.
Just this month, nine thefts have been reported to Washington University police.
