NEW ATHENS, Ill. (KMOV.com) – Authorities say a 21-year-old woman is dead after she wrecked her car in New Athens, Illinois Thursday morning.
Police said the woman, identified as Elizabeth Koch, was driving alone on Illinois Route 156 around 7 a.m. when her car ran off the right side of the road.
Authorities said her vehicle then went through a field and into a steep drainage ditch before flipping and rolling over.
Koch was pronounced dead at the scene. She was wearing a seatbelt, according to police.
Authorities said they found no witnesses and no other vehicles were involved.
