BALLWIN, Mo. (KMOV)—A two-alarm fire destroyed a house in Ballwin early Thursday morning.
Authorities said a man and his wife were inside their home at 245 Reinke Road was around 1:50 a.m. when they heard the smoke detector and got out of the house.
Firefighters arrived to the scene and found the home engulfed in flames.
At least 50 firefighters from multiple departments worked to battle the flames and eventually got them under control.
The house sustained heavy smoke and fire damage to the roof and attic.
The homeowners initially could not find their 15-year-old daughter, but she was later found at a friend’s house.
No injuries were reported.
Fire officials said the blaze appeared to be accidental.
