MIAMI (BaseballStL) – David Freese is making a last minute effort to be selected to go to next month’s All-Star Game in Kansas City.

Freese extended his hit streak to seven games with two hits in Wednesday’s 5-3 loss to the Miami Marlins.  He has collected multiple hits in four of his last five games.

Currently, Freese is third among NL third baseman in All-Star voting.

He is batting .285 with 13 home runs and 47 RBIs in 69 games this season.
