A Pennsylvania mother is charged with stealing from a clothing store, then leaving her 4-year-old daughter behind when she was about to get caught.
Police arrested the 28-year-old woman Tuesday after she eventually came back to the store to look for her little girl.
Authorities say employees that morning spotted her stuffing clothes and other objects into a bag.
When they confronted her, she ran from the store and left the child.
People who live in the area are stunned.
“To leave your child. That’s sad right there. How could you leave your child? That’s your child...you know...and didn’t come back. You should’ve never bought her in-in the first place,” said one person.
The four-year-old girl is in the custody of relatives.
The mother is charged with retail theft and child endangerment.
