Building damaged after tires catch fire in south St. Louis County

MEHLVILLE, Mo. (KMOV)—Tires caught fire behind a tire and auto business in South St. Louis County just after midnight on Tuesday.

According to fire officials, there was minimal damage done to Adams Tire and Auto after a group of tires caught fire behind the building at 12:15 a.m.

One department responded to the business located on the 3600 block of Lemay Ferry Road.

No one was injured and fire fighters did not have to evacuate surrounding apartments while fighting the fire.

No word on how it started at this time.
