ST. LOUIS (KMOV) – A new steel-frame canopy in being built around the perimeter of Kilroy’s Bar in downtown St. Louis, nearly two months after a man was killed in a tent collapse.
Contractors of the project, which started a week ago, said the new canopy will be made entirely out of metal.
The project comes after 58-year-old Alfred Goodman was killed in late April when strong winds knocked over a tent he was near while outside the bar.
Almost 100 others were injured in the collapse.
The owners of Kilroy’s said they hope to have the new canopy in place by Friday for the Cardinals home game.
