ST. LOUIS (KMOV.com) -- Residents and business owners in south city are upset after the total of car break-ins continue to mount. The number is now close to two dozen.
Police say they've increased patrols in the area and a special unit is working to catch the suspects. City officials are urging residents to lock their vehicles and keep valuables out of sight.
"Our neighborhood counts," said Alderman Joe Vaccarro. "We need to have this stuff stopped, it effects property value, and if people leave our neighborhood and if our neighborhood collapses, it's going to effect the city."
