Police catch suspect who allegedly stole 'bath salts,' led officers on chase

ST. CHARLES COUNTY, Mo (KMOV) – Police have arrested a robbery suspect who led officers on a pursuit in St. Charles County Monday morning.

Police said the suspect, 35,  walked into 94 Bait and Tackle shop in Weldon Springs around 6:30 a.m. and grabbed synthetic bath salts before running from the store.

Authorities said police began chasing the suspect after he was spotted near the Winghaven area.

The pursuit went into the Wentzville area, where the suspect ditched his car and fled.

Authorities said he was later spotted by Wentzville police in the creek bed areas west of Highway 61.

He was later apprehended around 2 p.m. after being found in a wooded area near Highway 61 and North Point Prairie Road.

No injuries were reported.

Additional details surrounding the robbery were not immediately available.
