ST. LOUIS, Mo. (KMOV.com) – A St. Louis resident had to be treated for a burn after a fire broke out in their 8th floor apartment Friday morning.
Captain Sutter with the St. Louis Fire Department said firefighters responded to the scene in the 1600 block of North Kingshighway around 3:15 a.m.
When crews arrived, they reported finding smoke on the 8th floor. They later located the fire in one of the apartment complexes. Firefighters said the fire was minor and was extinguished quickly.
The resident in the apartment suffered a minor burn and had to be treated by emergency personnel.
According to reports, the fire may have started during a cooking accident. The official cause has not yet been determined.
