CLAYTON, Mo. (KMOV.com) – A woman and her two daughters have been charged with assault on a law enforcement officer after a scuffle at a south St. Louis County business in May.

Police on June 5 charged Effee Lewis, 42, Shantel Lewis, 19, and Shanequa Lewis, 20, with assaulting a police officer and resisting arrest.

According to reports, an officer was dispatched to a business in the 4400 block of Meramec Bottom Road about 3:30 p.m. on May 1 after Effee Lewis began arguing about money with someone inside the company.

The officer attempted to take Lewis into custody, but she struck him in the face.

Lewis’ daughters were also on the scene. When the same officer attempted to arrest the mother again, Shantel, 19, and Shanequa, 20, punched and kicked the officer, according to police.
