ST. LOUIS (KMOV) -- Wednesday, construction begins on a bridge traveled by roughly 16,000 drivers a day. The bridge located on Page Avenue just west of Pennsylvania will be under construction for about a month.
MoDOT says they'll work weeknights from 7 pm to 7 am.
Crews will close one lane in each direction and during those night time closures left turns from side streets and businesses around page might be restricted for safety.
Though some business entrances might be partially blocked, customers will still have some access. News 4 learned the construction appears to be affecting those on foot more than drivers.
MoDOT officials say the project should be completed in mid August. This is one of 802 Missouri bridges scheduled for major repairs before 2014.
