BELLEVILLE, Ill. (KMOV.com) -- Police are searching for a man suspected of robbing a Metro-East bank on Thursday, and who may be connected to a similar robbery last month.
According to police, the suspect walked into the Catholic and Community Credit Union at 6100 West Main in Belleville around 2 p.m. and handed the teller a note demanding money.
Police say the suspect did not use or imply he had a weapon, and fled on foot after stealing an undisclosed amount of money.
Officials described the suspect as a black male around 5'6" weighing 165-180 pounds with short cut hair, plaid shorts and wearing a black baseball hat.
Detectives are investigating a potential connection between the credit union robbery and a similar crime on May 9.
