Firefighters battle 2-alarm blaze at church in Madison

MADISON, Ill. (KMOV) – Authorities were battling a 2-alarm fire that struck a church in Madison Wednesday afternoon.

The fire started at the Sacred Heart Of Jesus Polish National Catholic Church near the intersection of Plumb and Reynolds around 4:15 p.m.

At least four fire departments were on the scene, including Madison, Long Lake and Mitchell, battling the blaze. Crews could be seen trying to put the fire out from above using the truck’s platforms.

No injuries have been reported.

The cause of the blaze is currently unknown.
