(KMOV.com) – One person is dead, another is in the hospital in critical condition after an early morning shooting in south St. Louis.
Police said shots rang out in the 3600 block of Montana Street around 3:30 Wednesday morning.
When authorities arrived on the scene, they found that two men had been shot. One victim, William D. Yarbrough, 46, was unresponsive. He was pronounced dead at the scene. The second victim, also a male, suffered gunshot wounds to the face, chest and back. He was taken to an area hospital where he is listed in critical condition. The second victim has not yet been identified.
The suspect in the shooting was described to police as a heavy set black male with braids. He was reportedly wearing a white t-shirt and jeans. Witnesses at the scene told police the 35-year-old victim knew the shooter.
Police are now searching for the suspect.
