ST. LOUIS (KMOV.com) -- Police are looking for a man they say robbed a bank in south St. Louis Monday morning.

According to police, a man walked into the US Bank in the 5300 block of Southwest Avenue around 9:40 a.m. and handed a teller a note demanding money.  Police said the note indicated the suspect had a weapon in his vehicle.

Authorities said the suspect was handed an undisclosed amount of cash and walked out the front door.  He reportedly drove away in a gray or silver Chevy sedan.

The suspect is described as a black male in his 20’s.  Police said he was wearing a blue shirt, khaki pants, sunglasses and a gray Cardinals baseball cap when the robbery occurred.

Police said they later visited a residence in the 4300 block of Swan Avenue in relation to the bank robbery, but no more details were released.

Anyone with information on the suspect’s whereabouts is asked to call Crimestoppers at 866-371-TIPS. A reward of up to $1,000 will be given for information leading to an arrest.
