WELLSTON, Mo. (KMOV.com) – A Wellston home suffered extensive damage after a fire broke inside late Sunday night.
Fire officials said the fire at a residence in the 6300 block of Lenox Avenue around 11:40 p.m. Firefighters were able to contain the fire quickly, but the home suffered extensive interior damage. A few windows were also broken out of the home.
Authorities said the residents were not home when the fire started.
One firefighter suffered a minor injury while fighting the fire. He was treated at and area hospital and later released.
The cause has not yet been determined, but bomb and arson investigators have been called in to look into suspicious cause.
