Lynn hopes to bounce back from last start

HOUSTON (BaseballStL) – Starter Lance Lynn (8-2, 2.63) is looking for a better result in Houston than he had in his last outing when control issues led to an early departure.

In search of his ninth win of the year, Lynn lasted only 4.2 innings after allowing three runs (two earned), four walks and five hits to the New York Mets on June 2.

It has been nearly one year to the day that Lynn started a game against the Houston Astros, a win in which he allowed one run in five innings pitched on June 9, 2011.

Lynn will be opposed by Astros starter J.A. Happ (4-5, 4.31), who was beat by the Cincinnati Reds in his last outing.  Happ has been terrible against the Cardinals in nine career starts.  He has a 1-7 record with a 6.70 earned run average against the Redbirds.

The game is scheduled to start at 7:05 p.m.
