(KMOV) – A man is in custody after authorities say he walked out of a Godfrey Walmart with a lawn mower and other items without paying for them.
Adam Moss, 28, was charged Thursday with felony burglary.
According to deputies, Moss stole a lawnmower, a weed eater and a pair of shoes from the Walmart in the 6660 block of Godfrey around 7 p.m. Monday.
Authorities said Moss returned to the same Walmart the next day and an employee called police to alert them.
Deputies said Moss left the business and was stopped by authorities as he tried to drive away.
Authorities said Moss was wearing the shoes he had stolen the day before. The shoes were seized as evidence and Moss was taken to the Madison County Jail where he remains on a $50,000 bail.
Deputies said they were still trying to locate the stolen lawnmower and weed eater.
Anyone with information on the crime is asked to contact the Madison County Sheriff’s Office at 618-692-4433.
