(KMOV.com) -- The St. Louis Cardinals on Wednesday held a pep rally to encourage fans to vote for players on the National League All-Star Team.

The rally, entitled #VoteSTL, took place outside Gate 3 at Busch Stadium at 1 p.m.

Organizers of the event utilized social media to engage fans throughout Cardinals Nation to support the Cardinals with their All-Star votes, actively campaigned for the team and had some fun celebrating each player.

Several local officials - including St. Louis County Executive Charlie Dooley, St. Louis Mayor Francis Slay and Missouri Lt. Governor Peter Kinder - were in attendance.
