Cards-Cubs series opener starts after 2 hour delay

(BaseballStL) -- Persistent rain delayed the start of the series opener between the St. Louis Cardinals and Chicago Cubs for two hours on Monday.

The original start time was scheduled for 6:05 p.m., but an official rain delay announcement came 15 minutes prior to the scheduled start time.

The tarp was finally taken off the field at 7:15 p.m. and the game started at 8:05 p.m.
