St. Louis University Hospital RNs win first contract

ST. LOUIS, Mo (KMOV) Registered nurses at Saint Louis University Hospital now have the first collective bargaining agreement for R-N's at any St. Louis Hospital.

The nurses are represented by The National Nurses United or NNU Union.

Under the new contract, nurses cite an economic gain with pay raises of up to 9.5% of the 3-year life of the contract.

“This is a historic achievement for St. Louis nurses that will set a standard for all St. Louis RNs, patients, and the entire community in strengthening patient protections, workplace rights, and improved healthcare for the region," said NNU Executive Director RoseAnn DeMoro, a native of St. Louis.

The nurses do not have the power to strike but the hospital is not allowed to lock them out.
