ST. CHARLES COUNTY, Mo. (KMOV) – A St. Charles County woman has been charged in connection with the sexual assault and murder of her baby daughter last December.
Jessica Lynn Howell, a.k.a. Jessica Lynn Peters, faces counts of 2nd degree murder and child abuse.
Her 4-month-old daughter, Ashlynn Lilith Peters, died on December 3rd after she was allegedly sexually assaulted and strangled to death by the mother’s boyfriend, Jordan Lafayette Prince.
Prince has been indicted on counts of 1st degree murder, child abuse and forcible sodomy.
Prosecutors say the night before the girl was assaulted and killed, Jessica Lynn Peters had taken Ashlynn with her to spend the night at Prince’s home.
Evidence includes text messages from the mother consenting to the sexual assault of her daughter by Prince.
According to court documents, Jessica Lynn Howell was aware that Prince had a prior conviction for assaulting a child, had looked up the prior incident on the Internet, and had even discussed it with Prince himself.
