ST. LOUIS -- St. Louis Mayor Francis Slay and members of the Board of Aldermen are urging judges to get tougher on those who commit crimes with guns.
Slay told KMOX Radio that judges need to send a strong message that gun violence will not be tolerated. His comments came after a particularly violent week in the city.
Alderwoman Carol Howard says the recent death of a Bosnian store clerk was allegedly at the hands of a suspect that had been placed on probation and released early from jail too many times.
Another alderwoman, Jennifer Florida, says that when one man was shot last week, others with the shooter were laughing at the victim.
