HOUSTON -- A man accused of firing gunshots at his wife was taken into custody following a brief standoff in south Houston early Friday, police said.
According to the Houston Police Department, officers were called to the 13100 block of Donegal Way near Almeda-Genoa Road around 6 a.m.
A woman outside told police she got into an altercation with her husband, and he fired two or three gunshots before she ran out of their home and called 911. The suspect, however, stayed inside the home.
Police managed to talk the man into coming outside a short while later. He was taken into custody without further incident.
A SWAT team was en route to the location when the standoff came to an end.
The scene was located a few blocks south of an unrelated SWAT standoff in which a man was taken into custody on a felony warrant. That standoff involved Houston SWAT and lasted about two hours.
