(KMOV) -- Three people, including two teenagers, were seriously injured when three vehicles collided on a Cottleville highway Wednesday night.
Cottleville Fire officials said a van with two teenage occupants was traveling on westbound Highway 94 near Siedentop around 7 p.m. when it crossed the center lane and hit a Mazda sedan head-on.
A third vehicle then crashed into the rear of the sedan. No injuries were reported from the third car.
The 33-year-old male driver of the Mazda was trapped in his vehicle for 10 minutes before emergency crews were able to free him. He was transported by ambulance to an area hospital as his injuries were reportedly too severe to wait for an incoming medical chopper.
The two teens in the van were trapped in their vehicle for almost an hour. The Cottleville Fire captain said they were forced to use every piece of rescue gear from three fire trucks on scene to extricate the victims.
Those victims were airlifted to a nearby hospital with serious injuries.
Further details into what caused the wreck were not immediately known.
