Two men charged after leading police on chase that ended in crash on I-270

(KMOV) -- Two Indiana men have been charged after leading Granite City police and Illinois State Police on a chase that ended in a crash.
 
Authorities said 27-year-old Joseph Radtke, from Valpear, IN, was charged with 3 counts Aggravated Fleeing and 1 count Unlawful Possession of Controlled Substance. Michael Sommers, 23, from Chesterton, IN, was charged with 1 count Unlawful Possession of Controlled Substance .
 
The chase started around 10:00 a.m. on Monday in Troy, Illinois.
 
Both suspects were in a white vehicle led police on a chase down westbound I-270 near Southern Illinois University Edwardsville.
 
The chase lasted about 15 minutes and ended with a crash at I-270 and Route 3.
 
Police put stop sticks on the highway. The car hit the stop sticks, swerved and then crashed into a median.
 
No one was injured in the crash.
 Authorities tell News 4 that the vehicle reached a speed of nearly 90 mph.

Both Radtke and Sommers are currently held at the Granite City Jail but will be transferred. Radtke is held on a $200,000 bond. Sommers is held ona $50,000 bond.
