Jupiter, Fl (KMOV) - LHP Rich Hill, signed by the Cardinals to a minor-league contract after injuries plagued his 2009 season, made his Redbird debut Sunday against the Floriday Marlins.
The lefty came into the game in the fourth inning in relief of Kyle McClellan and pitched two innings, running into a bit of trouble in the second.
Hill was signed to compete for the fifth spot in the rotation and McClellan is widely thought to be his biggest competition.
