The Missouri Tigers took on the Missouri State Bears at University Field in Columbia, Mo. in their third game of the Missouri Breast Cancer Awareness Tournament.
As in their second game againt Southeast Missouri State University, the tigers were able to take care of business early as they won by a run spread rule with a score of 8-0 after five innings.
The first score of the game came in the first inning. Freshman, Nicole Hudson, put the tigers on the board after she hit an RBI double to center field.
Not stopping there, Jenna Marston added two more runs with a base hit single into left field, making the score 3-0 after the first inning.
Riding the momentum into the third, Martson again put one on the board for the tigers with a RBI single.
A few batters later, senior Gina Schneider pounded a double into left field, scoring Martson and fellow team member Lindsey Muller, to put Missouri up 6-0 after the third inning.
The tigers scored again in the fourth and fifth inning to spread Missouri State after five innings.
With a dominating performance by pitcher Kristin Nottelmann, who pitched a complete game with seven strikeouts while only giving up one hit, Missouri is now 3-0 in the tournament.
They look to extend their streak and make it a perfect 4-0 in tournament play as they take on the University of Missouri-Kansas City Sunday at 1:30 p.m.
