(KMOV) -- As of Sunday morning, police have yet to find one or more suspects who opened fire on an officer in St. Charles County Saturday night.
The shooting happened in the area of Highway 364 and the Missouri River. Police said an officer was responding to a call of a suspicious pedestrian near the bridge. When the officer arrived on the scene, someone shot toward the officer.
The officer was not hurt, but numerous law enforcement officials, including a police helicopter helped in the search for the shooter or shooters.
The search was called off around 4 a.m. on Sunday.
Authorities described the suspect as a white male in his 40s, wearing a camouflage jacket, and carrying a small handgun.
