(KMOV) -- Two people have been rescued after being trapped in an elevator at the top of a mill in Columbia, Ill. on Saturday.
The Columbia Fire Department confirmed that Nicole Avise-Rouse and Rudy Landgraf became trapped at the top of the mill when the elevator failed. The mill is currently owned by St. Paul United Church of Christ.
The two who became trapped are both members of the church. Kristofer Rouse said they were going a walk through of the mill to assess the feasibility of using the property for various future ministries.
The Columbia Fire Department rescued them from the 100-foot tower.
