Collinsville: Two men arrested for burglary, theft

In the early morning of 03/03/10 Officer Keith Jackson conducted a traffic stop and retrieved a stolen item that had been taken in a burglary in Collinsville on an earlier date. The information that he was able to compile led to a search warrant and arrest on two suspects and the recovery of several stolen items.

A search warrant was conducted yesterday at 916 W. Clay ST., Collinsville. Investigators recovered several stolen items and a small amount of drugs. Two suspects were subsequently arrested. Today the Madison County State's Attorney charged Robert J. Sloan, 22, of 916 W. Clay, Collinsville with Burglary a Class 2 felony, Bond was set at $50,000.00 by Judge Richard Tognarelli. Also charged was Jeffery A. Cantrell, 22, same address, with theft 2nd subsequent, a class 4 felony. His bond was set at $15,000.00. Both are currently in custody at the Collinsville Police Department.
