Collinsville: Man charged for drug trafficking

On March 1, 2010 at about 9:45 A.M. Officer Michael Reichert from the Collinsville Police Department conducted a traffic stop on vehicle for a minor traffic violation at N. Bluff Rd. at Ramada Blvd. During the course of the stop the officer noticed suspicious activity from the driver. Further investigation led to a search of the vehicle. The search yielded nearly 10 pounds of cannabis, a large amount of cash, and a loaded handgun.

On March 2, 2010 the Madison County State's Attorney charged Robert Vernon Stahl, 53 of Oroville, CA. with 1 count of cannabis trafficking, a class 1 felony, 1 count of possession of cannabis with intent to deliver, a class 1 felony, and 1 count aggravated unlawful use of a weapon, a class 4 felony. Bond was set at $100,000.00 by Judge Janet Heflin. Stahl is currently in custody at Madison County Jail.
