(KMOV) -- St. Louis police are looking for a man who set a woman on fire overnight.

It happened around 3:00 a.m. on Tuesday in the 6000 block of Emma.

The 47-year-old victim told police that a 57-year-old suspect came to her home asking to buy drugs. When the victim said she didn't have any, the suspect began to assault the victim. The suspect then threw gasoline on the victim and lit her on fire. The victim ran and was able to escape out a window as the house caught on fire.

The victim was taken to an area hospital with injuries to the face and head and listed in stable condition.

It appears the suspect and victim knew each other. The suspect has been identified and police are attempting to locate him. The investigation is ongoing.
