Salukis blown out in final regular season game

After a 21-point loss to Wichita State Saturday, the SIU men’s basketball team will enter the Missouri Valley Conference Tournament losers of seven of its last 10 games.

The Salukis lost to the Shockers 76-55, their worst loss since losing to Creighton 82-60 Feb. 14, 2009.

Junior forward J.T. Durley scored a game-high 21 points, while the lone senior for Wichita State’s Senior Day, Clevin Hannah, scored 13 points and dished out a career-high nine assists.

The Salukis were led by a career-high 15 points from freshman guard Kendal Brown-Surles, while junior forward Carlton Fay and junior guard Justin Bocot joined him in double figures with 11 and 10 points, respectively.

The SIU starters scored a combined 23 points in the loss.
