Local Family Dollar robbed, suspect still on run

(KMOV) -- A local Family Dollar in the 6000 block of Natural Bridge was robbed at gunpoint Saturday evening.

According to police, around 8:19 p.m., the suspect approached the clerk demanding cash. When the clerk did not immediately comply, the suspect then fired a single shot at the floor. The cashier then turned over money to the robber.

The suspect fled the scene on foot, running north on Darby Street.

He is described as a black male in his late teens or early 20's with a light complexion, hazel eyes, and thin build, standing between 5'6" and 5'8" tall. He was wearing a gray hooded sweatshirt, blue jeans and a multicolored scarf/mask covering the bottom of his face.

There were no reports of injuries.
