Bridgeton hotel fire leaves family without possessions

(KMOV) -- An overnight hotel fire has left a family without a place to stay and without most of their belongings.

The family had been living at the extended stay hotel in Bridgeton for a while.

Crews were called overnight Wednesday to the Northwest Airport Inn in the 3500 block of North Lindbergh near the airport.

Authorities told News 4 that three rooms in the hotel are destroyed but everyone got out safely.

No word on the cause of the fire yet.

The hotel suffered major smoke and water damage. The fire was brought under control in about 30 minutes.

Firefighters said the fire started on the first floor, then spread to the 2nd, and then the roof.
