(KMOV)-- St. Louis Mayor Francis Slay spoke out about Bommarito's call to a police sergeant on behalf of a 46-year-old nephew arrested on suspicion of drunk driving.
Mayor Slay wrote on his blog today that he is siding with Police Chief Dan Ison's characterization of Bommarito's actions as "inappropriate behavior."
Bommarito issued a statement Friday referring to Isom's characterization as "resumptive and false allegations."
In an apparent response to Bommarito's statement, the mayor wrote on his Twitter account today, "Memo to Colonel-B, you are standing in a hole, please stop digging."
