Children released from the hospital after boat capsized on the Meramec

(KMOV) -- A four-year-old girl and her two-year-old brother have been released from the hospital following a boat accident on the Meramec River near St. Clair, Missouri.

Four-year-old Paiton Hall was in the water almost 10 minutes Sunday night. She was not breathing when her family pulled her out of the water.

A 911 dispatcher was able to give the family instructions on how to adminster CPR before authorities arrived. CPR was successful and the toddler started breathing again.

The accident happened when the family tried to come to the rescue of a smaller boat that ran out of gas. Their boat got lodged in a tree and brush and capsized during their attempts to free it.
Four children were on the boat and were wearing life vests at the time of the accident. Paiton and her two-year-old brother, Nathaniel were taken to the hospital and both have been released.
