EAST ST. LOUIS, Ill. (AP) -- A second man is being sought on charges linked to a shooting last week that injured a teenager near East St. Louis Senior High School.
St. Clair County prosecutors charged 20-year-old Trenton Jefferson of East St. Louis with two counts of aggravated battery with a firearm and one count of aggravated discharge of a firearm.
Authorities already had charged a 17-year-old East St. Louis resident with aggravated unlawful use of a weapon.
Nineteen-year-old Earl Ladd was shot in a shoulder and lost use of his left eye in the gunfire. He survived and graduated two days later at Curtis Miller Alternative High in nearby Alorton.
Jefferson couldn't be reached for comment. He doesn't have a listed home telephone number, and it isn't immediately clear if he has an attorney.
